Young Innovators Shaping the Future: Robotics Ambassadors of İzmir
ACI35 is a FIRST Robotics Competition team founded in 2017 within the American Collegiate Institute, located in the heart of İzmir. Since our establishment, we have been building more than robots made of metal and wires. We create projects that leave a lasting impact on society, develop strong engineering visions, and cultivate an unwavering team spirit.
Our History and Journey
Our journey, which began in September 2017, quickly evolved into international success. In our rookie year, we earned the Rookie All-Star Award in New York City, qualifying for the World Championship in Houston and setting our standards at the highest level from the very beginning.
In the years that followed, we continued to demonstrate both our engineering excellence and our commitment to FIRST values by receiving prestigious awards such as Engineering Inspiration and Gracious Professionalism at regional events in İstanbul and Boğaziçi. In 2024, we proudly represented our school and our country at the World Championship in Houston.
Team Structure and Diversity
Today, we are a family of 40 members. With 23 female and 17 male students, our team stands as a strong example of our commitment to gender equality in STEM.
Mechanical and Software: From the design of our robot to CAD processes and autonomous programming, we take full responsibility for our technical development.
Outreach and PR: We professionally manage sponsorship relations, corporate identity, social responsibility projects, and educational initiatives, ensuring a strong connection between our team and the wider community.
Beyond the Robot: Social Impact
For us, FRC is about far more than match scores. We see it as a responsibility to reach every segment of society.
Leadership in Education: From LÖSEV to schools for visually impaired students and sister teams, we deliver STEM and robotics education to thousands of learners.
Global Collaboration: Through partnerships with organizations such as UNDP, we lead projects like “Children of Tomorrow,” contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Vision
By combining engineering discipline with a strong sense of social responsibility, we aim to grow as individuals who are environmentally conscious, technology driven, and guided by the principle of Gracious Professionalism in every aspect of life.
As ACI 35, we are already building solutions for the challenges of the future through the robots and projects we create today.
